Sustainability Initiatives
-
Our Circular Economy Program is central to Winya’s sustainability strategy, and it demonstrates our commitment to reducing environmental impact through a closed-loop system. At Winya, we believe that sustainability isn’t just about producing eco-friendly products; it’s about rethinking the entire lifecycle of our materials.
Through our Take-Back Program, we encourage clients to return their old furniture, which we then repurpose into new, functional pieces. This initiative not only minimises landfill waste but also ensures that the materials we use are given a second life. By embracing circular economy principles, we help our clients reduce their carbon footprint while contributing to the creation of sustainable, long-lasting furniture
-
At the heart of our sustainability efforts is e-Board, a revolutionary material created by recycling melamine board from decommissioned office furniture. This material significantly reduces the amount of furniture waste that ends up in landfills, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
Through the creation of e-Board, Winya is leading the charge in transforming how the furniture industry views waste; by turning old products into high-quality new pieces. This innovation is part of our broader commitment to sustainability, and it’s a solution that reflects both our environmental values and our dedication to creating jobs and opportunities within Indigenous communities.
-
Winya prioritises responsible sourcing to ensure that the materials used in our furniture have the least possible environmental impact. We work with suppliers who align with our sustainability goals, and we utilise salvaged timbers from mine-site clearing projects. This approach not only helps reduce deforestation but also provides vital economic opportunities for remote Indigenous communities, where jobs are often scarce. By repurposing timber that would otherwise be burned or discarded, Winya ensures that we contribute to both environmental conservation and community development.
-
Winya’s commitment to quality and sustainability is reflected in the numerous certifications we hold. We are ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certified, meaning our operations adhere to the highest global standards for both quality control and environmental responsibility. In addition, our products are AFRDI, BIFMA, Greentick, and Greentag certified, ensuring that our furniture meets rigorous industry standards for safety, performance, and environmental impact. These certifications provide assurance to our customers that Winya is not only committed to high-quality products but also to maintaining the highest ethical and environmental standards.

Through our two-tier supply chain transparency process, we conduct audits, issue detailed questionnaires, and visit manufacturing sites to ensure that our supply chain remains free of exploitative labour practices. This commitment ensures that all those involved in producing Winya furniture are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
Bribery and Corruption Prevention
Winya maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for bribery and corruption. We require all suppliers and partners to submit compliance statements confirming that they adhere to anti-bribery and anti-corruption standards. Our employees also undergo regular training to reinforce our company’s commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and transparency. Through these policies, Winya ensures that all aspects of our business operations are carried out with the utmost honesty and accountability.

Winya is committed to upholding the highest standards of labour rights and ethical employment. We ensure that all workers within our supply chain have the freedom to choose their employment, work in safe and healthy conditions, and receive fair compensation. Additionally, we prohibit child labour and ensure that no employee is subject to coercion, intimidation, or unfair practices. By fostering an environment of fairness and respect, Winya creates opportunities for dignified work that supports both individual and community well-being.
